What a dissapointment.

Visiting this place on Easter Sunday we found that the kitchen was staffed by a single person, which resulted in a whopping 45 minute wait until the starters arrived, and another 45 minutes for the main dishes.

We didn't bother waiting for the dessert, as a) we did not intend to spend all of our weekend in this place, and b) because the food was plain awful.

The "terrine the canard" looked like it was procured from the local Lidl supermarket, and actually tasted of chicken. The Fondue au Parmesan had a rock-hard, slightly burnt crust, and was accompanied by once deep-frozen parsley.

The quality of the beef steaks was mediocre at best, with large chewy bits. The rare steak we ordered was overcooked, perhaps because we as non-Belges or French were deemed too squeamish to have some proper, bloody steak. Texture of the chips/fries was OK, but the fat in which they had been fried must have dated from the last century.

Service bordered on the comical, with a lone, hapless waiter strugglig to cope with the 5 tables of guests, screaming 'j'arrive' to anyone who had by then given up the hope that the food would arrive.

Oh, the wine selection was actually not bad.

Le Dauphine is the worst restaurant we came across in Brussels. I don't understand why anyone would bother spending their hard-earned cash on this restaurant, especially when there are fabulous places like Le Pre Sale just around the corner.
